5th circular: Logistop joins the organization of the 7th International Interdisciplinary Conference of Port Studies, Third National Conference of Professional Diving and the 1st International Conference of Physical Internet

Dear colleague,

It is our pleasure to inform you that Logistop, the Spanish Technology Platform for Integrated Logistics, Intermodality and Mobility, has joined RedEP and the University of Cadiz in the organization of the 7th International Interdisciplinary Conference of Port Studies and the 1st  International Conference of Physical Internet, given its interest in the dissemination of the Physical Internet concept in Spain.

What is Logistop? Logistop (www.logistop.org) is the Platform that brings together the main entities interested in innovation in the logistics sector, both from the perspective of the company and the research sector, in close collaboration with the Administration.

Who are its members? Logistop has over 350 members, among which companies such as Ford Spain (Logistop Presidency), Carrefour, DHL, Everis or Logifruit, among many others and the main research centres specialised in Logistics (ITENE, ZLC, CENIT, CTL Cantabria, to name some). In addition, a large number of SMEs and technological start-ups are involved in Logistop.

What is its focus? Logistop, through its different Working Groups, carries out activities aimed at promoting the Physical Internet concept in Spain and mobilise Spanish companies to take part in this process, channelling the sector’s needs and the capacities of the Spanish research centres. In addition, it carries out different actions of communication and knowledge transfer aiming at transmitting to its members the existing opportunities of innovation that can help them to improve their processes and be more competitive.

Other things you should know about our new organizer. Through the WINN project, Logistop has been one of the main promoters of the European Logistics Technology Platform, ALICE, an entity that pursues the realization of the Physical Internet in Europe in 2050, bringing together the main users and the leading companies in innovation (P&G, Mondelez, Solvay, Ford, FM Logistics, among others). In addition, ALICE supports and participates in the implementation of Horizon 2020. Logistop is an active member of ALICE (http://www.etp-logistics.eu/), participating in the different Working Groups and the Mirror Group of the European Platform. This participation enables a direct bidirectional relationship between the two Platforms, where the Spanish needs are transferred to Europe and Logistop members are in direct contact with European advances.
